On the milk path to Malga Fane/Fane Alm

Level: easy
2 hours | 3km | 340m elevation

This easy hike is suitable for families and begins at the end of the valley in Vals. First, it leads over the asphalted road to Kurzkofel hut, then left over a stream to the car park shortly before the ancient Alpine village. This hike is a highlight throughout the year and can also be enjoyed as a snowshoe hike.

Valle d’Altafossa/Altfasstal circular hike

Level: medium
3.5 hours| 11km | 390m elevation

The tour begins at the car park above Meransen at the entrance to Valle d’Altafossa/Altfasstal. Follow the valley road until the fork and then turn right to head uphill into the valley on route no. 16a towards the treeline. At the bend, change to route 16b and hike to Pranter Stadel hut and then on to Wieser hut. Return along route no. 15.

Summit tour on Gaisjoch

Level: difficult
5 hours | 9.5km | 1,045m elevation

This summit tour begins at the car park for Valle d’Altafossa/Altfasstal and first leads to Großberg hut. Cross the western meadow slope and follow the route marked no. 15b, followed by trail no. 13a. Next, take route no. 13 which takes you onto the ridge and then up to the Gaisjoch summit. On the way down, follow path no. 13b to Walderjochalm, then continue to Wieser hut, and return to the car park via route no. 15 through Valle d’Altafossa/Altfasstal.
