The Huberhof is Level 3 Certified

In South Tyrol, a special seal is awarded to destinations and accommodation providers that are actively committed to a sustainable future: the South Tyrol Sustainability Seal. Since sustainability is a long-term journey, the seal is divided into three levels, each with its own set of criteria. The third and highest level corresponds to GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) certification and is internationally recognized.

Level 3
At this level, sustainability efforts extend across all relevant areas of the business. The Huberhof follows a clear sustainability strategy, supported by a comprehensive action plan and a system for monitoring progress. All sustainability-related information is transparently disclosed. Every operational field is certified by an external body. 

We rely on renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies to minimize our ecological footprint. Modern heat recovery systems, such as our combined heat and power plant, energy-saving lighting, and sustainable heating methods are just a few of the measures we have implemented. In this sector, we are committed to expanding the use of renewable energy in the future through photovoltaic systems. With our stunning panoramic location, this is nothing short of essential.

Our connection to the region is reflected in everything we do. We work closely with local producers to offer our guests fresh, regional, and seasonal delicacies. At the same time, we support the local economy and minimize transport distances. Even our breakfast eggs are produced daily, fresh from the chicken coop right next to the Huberhof – truly zero kilometers.

Behind the scenes, sustainability is an important part of our daily operations. By using digital processes, we reduce paper consumption while making our workflows more efficient and resource-conscious.

Wherever possible, we avoid paper-based invoicing and provide invoices conveniently in digital form, eliminating the need for printing. Previews and documents can also be accessed and reviewed easily on tablets.

We want to inspire our guests to experience sustainability as a natural part of their stay. That is why we create transparency before arrival and provide practical recommendations that make it easy for everyone to contribute to the responsible use of resources.

Our digital guest information is particularly valued, as it allows visitors to prepare for their stay in a more conscious way while helping us reduce paper consumption. We also offer access to digital newspapers, enabling us to completely eliminate printed editions. Our welcome and farewell gifts are carefully selected from regional products, with a focus on quality, authenticity, and sustainability. Rather than offering short-lived promotional items, we choose meaningful gestures that express genuine appreciation and create lasting memories.

“Avoid, reduce, recycle” is the guiding principle behind our approach to resource management. We prioritize sourcing packaging-free products, consistently separating waste, and relying on reusable materials wherever possible. By consciously limiting single-use items, we actively contribute to long-term waste reduction.

Our structured waste management system translates this philosophy into concrete action: strict waste separation, the use of a waste compactor and packaging-free product handling through refill systems. We also make deliberate choices to avoid disposable items, such as single-use slippers, and instead encourage our guests to bring their own sandals, supporting a more sustainable stay.

Water is one of nature’s most precious gifts. That is why we treat every drop with care and rely on smart water-saving technologies and conscious choices to protect this valuable resource. Enjoy the purity of our mountain spring water, freshly served in a carafe at your table. For your adventures beyond the hotel, we provide it in a recyclable can – a sustainable companion for every journey. Because plastic bottles have no place here.
