Meransen is a paradise for walkers. Not only the number of possible walking routes around our village is particularly great – but also the diversity of impressions which you are gifted with, left and right of the path. Flowering meadows, scenic trails, tours to medieval churches and ancient farms, through larch forests and along gurgling mountain brooks are just a small foretaste of what awaits you on a walking holiday in Meransen.
With us on site and in the near Altfasstal you can find idyllic routes which you can walk on during your entire vacation. In addition to educational themed trails such as the Bienenweg in Rodeneck or the Almen Kneippweg, you can hike the most beautiful views: on the plateau of Rodeneck for example, the observation deck on the Gitschberg, from which you can admire 500 mountain peaks, and to the Seefeld lakes, or with enough fitness condition on the Astjoch and in the Pfunderer mountains. An alpine hike offers in addition to the fantastic farsightedness also repeatedly traditional huts in which you put the walking stick in the corner for a while and can feast on fresh drinks and Tyrolean specialties.

Circular trail Altafossa Valley to Maranza
Starting point for the hike is the parking lot Altafossa Valley. From there you walk towards north on the well-prepared Circular trail Altafossa Valley. Shortly before the Altafossa River, turn right to mark 16 and follow the path.
Above the Felderalm, cross the stream and return to mark 15, past the Kircher Alm and the Prockeralm. The alpine lodge Großberghütte invites to take a break.

On the path ‘Mörserweg’ to the lodge ‘Bacherhütte’
Starting point for the hike is our hiking hotel Huberhof (1,400 m).
From there we walk in the direction of the cable car, along the road to the farm Pichlerhof. Once there, we follow path no. 12 to the Grabenkreuz and continue on the Mörserweg to the lodge Bacherhütte (1,745 m).

Alpine round-trail ‘Kleine Gitsch’
Our special hiking recommendation to discover the alpine region:
From the hotel we walk to the cable car, which takes us to 2,100 m altitude. From the lodge Nesselhütte, across the Ochsenboden to the Kleine Gitsch, then descend along the ridge to the lodge Moserhütte. Fantastic views over the entire alpine region are at your feet. After a short stop, an easily accessible forest trail leads back to the middle station, from where you may choose whether you want to return by cable car or prefer to return by foot to the valley and to the Hotel Huberhof.
