Our Sustainability Concept - green circle

For us, sustainability is much more than just a trend – it is a guiding principle that is present in every aspect of our hotel. Taking responsibility for nature, our guests, and future generations is our top priority. We have developed a unique sustainability concept that acts responsibly from an ecological, social, and economic perspective. We’d like to give you a glimpse into our commitment to a more sustainable future.

Our hotel relies on renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies to minimize our ecological footprint. By using heat recovery systems, such as our combined heat and power unit, and energy-saving lighting, we have created a sustainable infrastructure. Environmentally friendly heating methods also contribute to significantly reducing our energy consumption. Our photovoltaic systems generate green energy and help to reduce CO₂ emissions – another step toward a greener future.

We also place great importance on regionality in our cuisine. 100% of our dairy products – such as yogurt, butter, and fresh cream – are sourced entirely from South Tyrol. This not only supports the local economy but also keeps transportation routes short. A special highlight: the eggs served at breakfast come directly from our own chicken coop! Herbs, salads, zucchini, and pumpkins are also grown in our own 0 km herb and vegetable garden.

At the reception, we are equally committed to sustainability: we aim to minimize paper usage by carrying out processes digitally whenever possible.

We raise awareness among our guests by offering tips on how to be more sustainable during their stay. For example, we inform them in advance and kindly ask them to bring their own bath slippers to help protect the environment. Many of our guests appreciate this and are happy to receive these messages digitally before arrival.

Waste separation and recycling are standard practice for us. Offering a packaging-free breakfast and avoiding single-use plastics are key priorities. Instead, we focus on reusable packaging to help reduce waste.

The Huberhof team is the heart of our hotel. That’s why it is especially important to us to provide our employees with good working conditions. We support their personal development and offer regular sustainability training so that each team member can contribute to our overall sustainability efforts.

We also encourage environmentally friendly travel options for our guests. We offer a free shuttle service from the nearest train station, Franzensfeste, to the hotel, allowing for a convenient and eco-friendly arrival. In addition, guests can rent e-bikes to explore the surrounding area sustainably, and we provide charging stations for electric vehicles.

Preserving cultural heritage is also close to our hearts. Panoramahotel Huberhof supports local craftsmanship, traditions, festivals, and events both financially and through material donations.

When it comes to construction and renovations, we use sustainable materials and energy-efficient architectural designs. Our buildings combine modern elements with ecological responsibility – creating a harmonious atmosphere for both our guests and the environment.
